Welcome fellow Vikings fan!
As you know, finding great Vikings Tickets is probably the hardest part of being a Vikings supporter, but here you will find information on how to obtain 'hard to get' and 'sold out' tickets.
Previous Seasons
After taking the Vikings to the Conference Championships in 2009, the franchise is now in Favre limbo. That is until the 40-year old quarterback decides on whether to return to the team or finally (and truly) retire. The Vikings wasted little time in re-signing last season’s backup QB Tavaris Jackson to a one year deal just in case Favre decides not to return. The team also has Sage Rosenfels as a third QB.
The Vikings need some help in other areas, most notably the offensive line which is now without both top backups at the guard and tackle spots. The team is also looking to beef up their linebacker corps with both Greenway and Leber entering contract seasons and E.J. Henderson returning from a broken leg suffered last season.
Look for head coach Brad Childress, now in his 5th full season at the helm, to get back to the conference championships and beyond.
On August 18, 2009, the Vikings took a step closer to winning a Super Bowl Championship in a move destined to sell many a ticket. The franchise agreed to a two year contract with Hall of Fame Quarterback Brett Favre who played last year with the New York Jets and where he completed the season with a 9-7 record and was eliminated from playoff contention finishing 3rd in the NFC East. Favre also made the Pro-Bowl along with a Jets franchise high 6 other players.
In the draft, they picked up Florida WR Percy Harvin with the 22nd pick of the draft, OT Phil Loadholt from Oklahoma, Asher Allen a Cornerback from Georgia, Jasper Brinkley, a South Carolina Linebacker and Jamarca Sanford, a Safety from Mississippi.
In the first preseason game of 2009, the Vikings scored a 13-3 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Sage Rosenfels, brought in early 2009 to compete with Tavaris Jackson, completed 10 of 13 passes for 91 yards and a 95.4 QB rating.
Ticket sales for the '09 season have gone well, especially with the acquisition of Favre, but the franchise is soon to be taking a big risk as they move forward with their plan to push for a new stadium in 2009 where the Vikings have only 30 games remaining. The new stadium proposal places the new stadium on the old stadium site. So be sure to get your Vikings tickets and cheer your team on to victory.
The Minnesota Vikings made a big splash in the '06 off-season, but it wasn’t for who they added to their team. This off-season for the Vikings will be remembered for the one where they traded away, arguably, the best receiver in the National Football League. The Vikings felt that they couldn’t get any further than where they had been with a player like Randy Moss on their team. They decided to trade him and his big contract away to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for linebacker Napoleon Harris and a first and seventh round pick in this year’s draft. The team also brought in cornerback Fred Smoot, safety Darren Sharper, defensive tackle Pat Williams and linebacker Sam Cowart to sure up a defense that had been full of holes in recent history. They were able to go out and pick up these players with the cap space that was created with the trade of Moss.
In the draft, the team knew they had to get another playmaker on the offensive side of the ball since Moss was no longer with them. They did just that when they drafted South Carolina wide receiver Troy Williamson. Williamson is a burner; he run’s his 40 yard dash in 4.38 seconds and is a natural playmaker. He has big, soft hands and in college, last year, he stepped up his consistency of coming down with the home run ball. Some of his greatest abilities include how well he can get a poorly thrown ball and making the tough acrobatic catches in the middle of traffic or in corners of the end zone.
With their second pick in the draft, which also came in the first round, was Wisconsin defensive end Erasmus James. James had injury problems earlier in his college career, but put all of those worries to rest when he appeared in 10 of his 11 games last season. The one game he missed due to an ankle injury that wasn’t serious. He is a great athlete at the end position and has what people like to call “a motor that never quits.” He will be welcomed with opened arms to the Vikings defense who have been desperately hoping they could get more pressure with their front four so they don’t have to rely on blitzes to disrupt the offense.
The offense won’t be what it has been in recent years for the Vikings for obvious reasons, but that won’t keep fans from buying Vikings tickets. The team is still led by All-Pro quarterback Dante Culpepper, who could’ve won the MVP award last season if Indianapolis Colts signal caller Peyton Manning didn’t set a single season passing touchdown record. Wide out Nate Burleson will step up to the featured receiver this season and is the main reason the Vikings were ok with giving Moss up in the off-season.
The defense should be improved this year with all of the additions and the few subtractions they made. The veteran leadership paired with their new defensive coordinator should give them everything they need to improve this season.
The Vikings start ’07 without coordinator Mike Tomlin – and somehow attempting to improve a passing game that struggled last season. On the offence, the addition of left guard Steve Hutchinson is expected to help. And the Vikings do have Kevin Williams – who is one hard player to get by, along with Pat Williams, who racked up 44 tackles in ’06. With both Williams on call, the Vikings are strong in rushing yards – but Metrodome ticket holders still have to see their team challenge the Bears.
The 2008 Minnesota Vikings team achieved most of their goals. They won the NFC North by defeating the defending champion New York Giants. They made it into the playoffs in the Wild Card Round but that is where their luck ended. The Vikings would go on to lose to the Philadelphia Eagles, who would go on to lose to the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship game.
